Pumpkin Patch 2010

We met the Alvarez family at Underwood Farms on Saturday to check out the Fall Festival Pumpkin Patch and enjoy Public Safety Weekend...interesting mix, wouldn't you say? Even so, it was awsome. The weather was a beautiful muggy haze (way better than the 100+ degrees we've been having) perfect for taking pictures.

The pumpkins are always incredible...more like incredibly expensive. So we pretend to pick out the biggest, bestest pumpkin but then leave it behind when Lu's not looking. Then we pick them up from Home Depot for $2 each. But the farm does have a huge selection of super pumpkins - blue, white, red, big, small, giant, any kind of pumpkin you can imagine (just not cheap pumpkins).

As you can see below. The farm is great. There is so much to keep Lu busy. Besides the animals that you can feed and pet, there was a huge tractor turned in to a slide, hay stacks to climb, pony rides, and because it was public safety weekend, there were police cars and fire trucks galore to check out. I especially liked the huge SWAT truck and made Luci climb into it. Notice a patern here? I'm trying to make Lu dress up in her SWAT costume for halloween - she is very resistant, leaning towards something way more girlie-typical.

Lu was lucky enough to be chosen to be a cheerleader for the pink pig during the pig races. She did a good job despite little pinky being a slow piggie.

There was a huge corn maze that we only completed maybe 20% of before getting turned around and giving up. Only after standing on top of a haystack and looking at it from above didi I realize just how big it was (and how little of it we did!).

Lastly, Lu and Gracie rode the cow train. It was neat to see them ride off by themselves. One of those "my baby's getting big" moments cuz we didn't have to do it with them and they didn't seem to need us.
