Summer Gardening

As some of you may already know, sewing is not my only obsession. Back in March I tore up a chunk of my backyard and planted a vegetable garden. Not quite the Urban Gardener my friend Megan is (she has chickens!), I'm trying my hardest to keep my garden pest-free and bountiful.

While I've grown the occassional tomato plant in the past, this isthe first year that I actually picked up a gardening book and read up on how to best maintain the garden. It's been hard work and some trial and error, but vegetables are here!

Now all we need is some famous San Fernando Valley dry heat! I can't believe I'm asking for it!
